Canthopexy
"Canthopexy is a procedure that lifts the outer corner of eyelids to achieve a more almond-like shape in those eyes to be too rounded."
This surgery restores tone to the lower eyelids, and if necessary, corrects any asymmetry.
The incisions follow the natural lines of the eyelids. The scars are imperceptible from the month of the intervention. Very fine
sutures are used to close the wound, leaving a minimal scar line.
The surgeon makes an incision along the upper eyelid, along the horizontal folds lines that form in that area. Through this incision,
canthal tendon is reached, and attaches to the membrane covering the orbital rim.
The achievement is a fresh and natural appearance of the eyelids and face.
It is the ideal complement to Blepharoplasty, as both can be done through the same incisions, and in the same surgical act.
The surgery is performed under local anesthesia plus sedation, and can last 2 hours or so. The procedure is outpatient; after the surgery is
done, the patient remains for a few hours in the clinic and then is discharged. The post-surgical recovery is quick and hassle free.
In the next few days the patient can resume the normal working life, although without engaging in activities requiring physical exertion
during the first days after surgery.
